St. Paul's Fort Garry Announces New Incumbent:
The parish is pleased to announce that the Rt. Rev. Geoff Woodcroft has appointed the Rev. Karen Laldin to be our new Incumbent effective January 1, 2020. Karen comes from the Parishes of St. Paul, Middlechurch and St. Andrew, St. Andrews, where she has served the last seven years as incumbent.
Karen has provided us with this brief biography:
"Karen Laldin née Thorne was born and raised in Burgeo, Newfoundland. From a very young age she participated in Sunday School and youth group of the parish first as a member and afterwards as a teacher. Karen was ordained a deacon on 2nd May 1993 and priested on 7th November 1993. She emigrated to Winnipeg in 2012 after serving in the parishes of Forteau, Labrador, Stephenville Crossing and St. Mary the Virgin in the diocese of Western Newfoundland. Karen is passionate about children, adolescent and teen spiritual nurturing and religious education through Sunday School, Vacation Bible Schools and youth group. She loves to compose liturgy for either contemporary worship or special events. Karen and her husband, Edmund have been married for 25 years. In her spare time, she loves to bake, to spend time with her dog and to take on small crafty projects."
WELCOME KAREN! We are excited to get to know you and for you to get to know us
